BA,
MS, JD is admitted to practice law in
Canada (Ontario) and the United States (Florida) and
has practiced Canadian and U.S. immigration law exclusively
for twenty years.
Asher is an Executive Member of the
Ontario Bar Association - Citizenship and Immigration
Law Section and has served as the Chair of the American
Immigration Lawyers Association (Canada Chapter). He
has lectured extensively in Canada and the U.S. on various
aspects of Canadian and U.S. immigration law including
at the Canadian Bar Association, the American Bar Association,
the Law Society of Upper Canada and numerous conferences
of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. |
Asher has authored articles on immigration law in such prestigious
publications as Interpreter Releases and Immigration
Law Today. He co-edited and co-authored the book Immigration
Practices and Procedures under the North American Free Trade
Agreement published by the American Immigration Lawyers
Association and authored the chapter on Canadian immigration
law for the well-known U.S. treatise, Immigration Law
and Procedure by Gordon, Mailman & Yale-Loehr, Matthew
Bender & Company.
Asher lives in Toronto with his wife Barbara
their two teenaged daughters and son. When he manages time
away from the office he can often be found at his beach side
